I have looked at many textbooks that teach Biblical Hebrew. Many of them are old, and outdated. They, frankly are boring. But I found a book that is interesting, explains everything that you need in order to read the Bible in the original Hebrew.
I was even able to contact the author to clarify some points about the book.
I got it from Amazon, http://amzn.to/1MZJ5Z6 , and so do my students. The grammar terms are all in English, so when I am teaching, I use the Hebrew terms, but other than that, it is a very good book! After this book, you can go to the Bible itself with all the tools and be able to translate any verse!
