Torah Verse for Gimal Tevet Bereshit Chapter 1 Verse 3
And God said, there will be light and there was light.
And God said, there will be light and there was light.
This verse talks about the light. What type of light was there? At this point in God's time there weren't any objects that could emit light as we know it.
Therefore Our Rabbis say that it was a spiritual light that was created on this day. Then later on, God made the Sun and the moon, but we will get to that when we get to those verses.
So this light was not the kind of light that we use everyday. and Mankind was not deemed worthy of it in this world so it was taken when the Sun was created, and put in a place set aside for the Next World.
What does this type of light mean to you? I think that it is the light that we use when we do the right thing, when we atone for things that are not right, when we cheat others. We need this light. We need to work for this light.
Thank you
