Happy Hebrew Lesson 10 The letter ח עברית בשמחה שיעור 10 האות ח

The letter ח  Chet is a classic throat letter, we say it by clearing the throat  hhh with a bit of a gargle. 

Ask your Hebrew Teacher to say this for you. 

It is the 8th letter of the Hebrew Alphabet.  Lets say all the Hebrews letters that we know now! 

א  ג ד ה ו ז  ח י ל מ  ם  נ  ן  ר שׁ  שׂ  ת 

Because it is a throat letter we have to make adjustments in many different words, otherwise the words would be too hard to say. 

The letter ח with all the vowels: 

חֱ	חֲ	חוּ	חוֹ	חִ	חֵ	חֶ	חַ	חָ
che	cha	chu	cho	che	chey	che	chaa	chaaa

Some words that use the letter ח 

 

חַג	חג	holiday
חַד	חד	sharp
חַם	חם	warm
חָדָשׁ	חדש	new
חוֹל	חול	sand
חוּשׁ	חוש	sense
הוּמוֹר	חוש	humor
חֲנוּת	חנות	a store
חֲתֻנָּה	חתונה	a wedding

Some members of the family 

אָח	אח	brother
אַחִים	אחים	brothers
אָחוֹת	אחות	sister
אֲחָיוֹת	אחיות	sisters
אִמָּא	אמא	mother
דוֹד	דוד	uncle
דּוֹדָה	דודה	aunt
אַחְיָן	אחין	nephew
אַחְיָנִית	אחינית	niece

שֶׁל	של	belonging
שֶׁלִּי	שלי	mine
שֶׁלְּךָ	שלך	yours mas
שֶׁלָּךְ	שלך	yours fem
שֶׁלּוֹ	שלו	his
שֶׁלָּהּ	שלה	hers
שֶׁלָּנוּ	שלנו	ours

Say these sentences 

חַוָּה אָחוֹת שֶׁלִּי		חוה אחות שלי	Chava is my sister
תֹּם אָח שֶׁלּוֹ		תום אח שלו	Tom is his brother
חַיִּים הוּא אָח שֶׁלָּנוּ		חיים הוא אח שלנו	Chaim is our brother
חַוָּה הִיא אָחוֹת שֶׁלָּהּ		חוה היא אחות שלה	Chava is her sister
אוּרִי הוּא דּוֹד שֶׁלּוֹ		אורי הוא דוד שלו	Ori is his uncle
דָּוִד הוּא אָח שֶׁלְּךָ		דוד הוא אח שלך	David is your brother
יְשַׂרְאֵלָה הִיא אָחוֹת שֶׁלָּךְ		ישראלה היא אחות שלך	Yisraela is your sister
