Happy Hebrew Lesson 13 the letter Ayin שיעור 13 עברית בשמחה האות ע

The letter ע Ayin is a classic throat letter, but most English speakers can't really say it.  It is usually said like the א  as a place holder for the sound of the vowel.

ע Handwriting and block letter:

Lets say all the Hebrews letters that we know now!

א  ג ד ה ו ז  ח ט י ל מ  ם  נ  ן ס ע ר שׁ  שׂ  ת

Let's say the ע with all the vowels:

עִעֵעֶעַעָ
eeeyehaahaaah
עֲעֻעוּעוֹ
ahooooohh

You might notice that there is no shva   ְ   for the ע  That is because it is a throat letter and most of the time we use the עֲ  instead!
