Happy Hebrew Lesson 7 the letter ש Shin עברית בשמחר שיעור 7

 Today, we are learning the letter שׁ   shin. 

In English we need two letters to make this sound "sh," but in Hebrew we need only one שׁ  

The ש  is a consonant and doesn't have a final form.  We need to make sure that we know that the dot is on the right side, however.    שׁ

Lets practice the ש ' with some vowels! 

     

שִׁ	שֶׁ	שַׁ	שָׁ
sh	sheh	shaaa	shaaaaaa

                  

                                        

Now we know these letters: 

א  ג ד  ה ו י ל מ  ם  נ  ן  ר שׁ ת 

We can make quite a few words and sentences with these letters: 

עִבְרִית עִם נְקֻדּוֹת	עברית בלי נקודות	English transliteration	English translation
אִישׁ	איש	eesh	man
אִשָּׁה	אישה	eesha	woman
שָׁם	שם	sham	there
שִׁיר	שיר	sheer	a song
גֶּשֶׁם	גשם	geshem	rain
שֶׁלֶג	שלג	sheleg	snow
שֶׁמֶשׁ	שמש	shemesh	sun
לַיְלָה	לילה	layla	night
יֵשׁ	יש	yesh	there is
אֵין	אין	ayeen	there is not
הַיּוֹם	היום	hayom	today
יֵשׁ גֶּשֶׁם הַיּוֹם	יש גשם היום	yeesh geshem hayom	There is rain today
אֵין גֶּשֶׁם הַיּוֹם	אין גשם היום	ayeen geshem hayom	There isn't rain today
יֵשׁ שֶׁמֶשׁ הַיּוֹם	יש שמש היום	yesh shemesh hayom	There is sun today
אֵין שֶׁמֶשׁ הַיּוֹם	אין שמש היום	ayeen shemesh hayom	There isn't sun today
יֵשׁ הַר שָׁם	יש הר שם	yesh har sham

There is a mountain there. 

שלום   hello, goodbye, peace

 שָׁלוֹם  Shalom

Hint:

The words that you need to find are only going across from right to left or up and down.

 There are no backwards words, or diagonals.
